Central Park Cherry Blossoms April 2026
It’s one of the great seasonal moments in Manhattan every year – the spring blooming of cherry blossoms just inside Central Park near its
72nd Street and Fifth Avenue entrance.
Approaching the scene . . . .
. . . . up this little glade . . . .
. . . and hitting paydirt.
Aaah . . . .
The pilgrim on Pilgrim Hill . . . .
up close . . .
. . . and personal.
Now back to business.
Lovely stuff . . . .
Now very close . . . .
. . . a bit further away. . . .
. . . . and petal by petal.
Through a small portal, a Central Park West edifice peeks out.
This shot emphasizes the gracefulness of the trees, as I swing the
camera around . . . .
. . . to take in The Pond, where the miniature sailboats
historically predominated.
To offset the mostly pink floral display, here’s some solid red-and-blue. . . .
. . . more of the same.
Some tree limbs venture out to the road.
There are lots of dogs around.
Here come the bike-cabs . . . .
. . . . now up close.
But I prefer the old-fashioned means of park transportation.
When leaving the cherry blossoms area, I noticed another lovely tree . . . .
. . . which turns out to be a magnolia – at which point we say,
so long, Central Park.
