My Vibes-Piano Duets

One of the early musical entries for the blog (back in November 2021) was a half-dozen tunes from my Duets album – the duets being between me on vibes and me on piano. I was very proud of this album, which required some flexibility to mesh the sounds of the two instruments.

I think it’s time now to feature another half-dozen of the album’s tunes, all from the swing era of the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. Here are the ones I picked, listed with year and composer:

 1.     I Only Have Eyes for You

1934 Harry Warren

 2.     Moonlight Becomes You

1942 Jimmy Van Heusen

3.     These Foolish Things (Remind Me of You)

1936 Jack Strachey and Harry Link

 4.     The Folks Who Live on the Hill

1937 Jerome Kern

 5.     Don’t Explain

1946 Billie Holiday

 6.     (I’m Afraid) The Masquerade is Over

1939 Allie Wrubel

I hope you enjoy my duets.

                                                                                     Jim
